There was once a young couple who lived in a small house on the outskirts of town. They were happy together, and loved nothing more than spending their evenings cuddled up on the couch, telling each other ghost stories.
One night, as they were settling in for the night, the young woman suddenly sat up and said, "I just had the most terrifying dream. I was walking through the woods, and I came across a ghostly figure standing by a tree. It was a woman, with long, tangled hair and a pale face. She was wearing a white dress that was torn and tattered, and she had a look of pure hatred in her eyes.
"As I approached her, she reached out and grabbed me by the arm. I tried to pull away, but she was too strong. She dragged me towards the tree, and I saw that there was a noose hanging from one of the branches. She put the noose around my neck and started to tighten it, and I knew that I was going to die.
"I woke up just as she was pulling me off the ground, and I was drenched in sweat. It was the most terrifying experience of my life."
The young man tried to comfort his girlfriend, telling her that it was just a dream and that she was safe with him. But as they lay in bed together, he couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't quite right. He kept glancing over at the window, expecting to see the ghostly woman peering in at them.
As the night wore on, he could feel the tension mounting. He couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched, and he knew that something evil was lurking in the darkness.
Finally, he couldn't take it anymore. He sat up and said, "I think we should leave this place. There's something not right here. I can feel it."
The young woman nodded, and they quickly packed their bags and left the house, never to return. They never spoke of the ghostly woman again, but they both knew that they had narrowly escaped a terrifying fate.
